We’re excited to kick off a brand-new tradition at VMAX: every month, we’ll be featuring one of our riders whose story inspires, surprises, or simply makes us smile. These are real people with real journeys — and we believe their voices deserve to be heard.
Our very first spotlight goes to Adam Gannon, whose experience with the VX4 GT is nothing short of remarkable. For Adam, riding a VMAX scooter isn’t just about convenience or fun. It’s about reclaiming independence, connecting with nature, and even saving lives. His journey is a powerful reminder of how mobility can transform everyday life.
Here’s Adam’s story, in his own words:
What inspired you to start riding a VMAX scooter?
Medical issues forced me out of a car but I still need to commute to work and other appointments. Public transportation does not go to all the places I need to. Figured a scooter would give me some independence back. I used a few rentals to decide what I wanted in a scooter. Based on that and online reviews I chose the VX4 GT.

Describe your perfect VMAX ride — where do you go, what do you see, and how does it feel?
There are several paved or hard packed trails around Salt Lake City that are fun to ride on. I especially like the Jordan River Parkway Trail. It is a roughly 45-mile trail that follows the Jordan River through the Salt Lake Valley. There are several trails that break off from the main trail and lead to different areas of the valley. The trail meanders past several historical and recreation areas. The trail is mostly shaded in the morning and perfect for an early morning ride. In the morning you see wildlife associated with a river environment; otters, beavers, ducks, and foxes to name a few.
How has using your scooter changed your daily routine or commute?
Riding a scooter has made my daily commute possible. Before the scooter I relied on family, friends, and uber to drive me around. Now I can get where I need to on my schedule and not rely on others. On the scooter I can often get around faster than a car due to the traffic and parking.
What’s your favorite feature of your VMAX scooter?
Comfort, range, and power, with comfort having a slight edge over the other two for my favorite feature.
Any funny, unexpected, or memorable stories from your rides?
On one of my urban exploration rides I came across a gentleman on a lightly traveled trail that was having a stroke. I was able to call 911 and get him help. That was both unexpected and memorable.

Do you personalize your scooter in any way? Stickers, accessories, lights?
I put some reflective tape on the scooter to be more visible. The biggest modification was attaching a bracket to the rear axle so I could pull a dog trailer. I had to modify the rear covers to allow room for the bracket, but most of the modification was to the bracket.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about getting their first scooter?
Ride several scooters to decide what you want in a scooter, what are the most important features for you. Once you know what features you need in a scooter, look for a scooter that meets those needs and fits in your budget. Also, read reviews from several different sources and watch online reviews.
What does being part of the VMAX community mean to you?
I enjoy getting out with other scooter riders and going on group rides. I have met quite a few new people through that.
Thank you, Adam, for sharing your story and being part of the VMAX community.
